Lot: 1 x 6" Action Figures (SIB) Sealed in Box Violator #10104 J Hook Bolted to Back / Chrome Trading Card SPAWN (McFarlane Toys) 1994 The figure stands at approximately 6 inches tall and features the distinctive, insect-like eyes and elongated jaw that are hallmarks of the character's design. It comes with rubber adjustable limbs on an armature and a jaw that snaps open. As a part of the first series of Spawn action figures, it was released with multiple variations in the packaging and figure itself. This is the very first release notable from the J-Hook peg holder that is bolted to the back of the packaging rather than die cut and includes a chrome Spawn trading card that was only included with this figure in the first two release variants. Overtkill, originally known as Nicholas Rocca, is a formidable character from the Spawn universe. His journey began in Sicily, where, even at the tender age of 13, he was already deeply entrenched in the criminal underworld, running extortion rackets and serving as an enforcer for the mob. His life took a dramatic turn when he was brutally attacked and left for dead, only to be resurrected as a cyborg with the moniker Overtkill. This transformation made him a relentless force, employed by mob boss Tony Twist to eliminate Spawn. Despite his enhanced cybernetic strength and combat prowess, Overtkill's encounters with Spawn often ended in his defeat, leading to multiple rebuilds and reconfigurations. His persistent presence in the series highlights the dark interplay between technology and human malice, making him a memorable adversary in the Spawn narrative. The first wave of Spawn action figures, released in 1994, marked a significant moment in the collectibles market, particularly for comic book enthusiasts and figure collectors. Crafted by McFarlane Toys, these figures were based on characters from Todd McFarlane's Spawn comic series, which debuted in 1992. The initial lineup included iconic characters such as Spawn himself, with his distinctive red cape and white eyes, and other memorable characters like Violator, Clown, and Overkill. Each figure was designed with a keen attention to detail, capturing the essence of McFarlane's gritty artwork, and they often came packaged with accessories and a comic book, adding value for collectors.
